Who is ready for the Solar Eclipse, #solareclipse ? I shot this a few weeks ago in my backyard in preparation of the Solar Eclipse coming up. I live in Petaluma, Ca. and it was a clear day when I photographed this. I used my Orion ED80T telescope connected to my Sony Alpha a6300 which was attached tom my Celestron AVX tripod. I think it came out pretty good and you can even see sunspot AR2670, which happens to be larger than the moon.

This is the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Stratton. It is one of the U.S. Coast Guard’s newest ships and is home ported in Alameda, California. We pulled into Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for some rest and relaxation after a long 3 month patrol. The locals were very nice and the food was absolutely amazing. I was on my way back from a hotel with some friends and as we were walking back I saw the ship and it looked great at the pier. Because we were running late I was able to get this one picture of it. I took this with the Sony Alpha a6000 and the kit lens.
This was taken at Sequoia National Park, in California. It is close to the General Sherman Tree by the Congress trail.
I used a Sony Alpha A7Sii, Rokinon 14mm, Nodal Ninja and a Mefoto Tripod. I took 12 shots total. 6 of them were pointed down at a 40 degree angle and then the other 6 were pointed up at a 40 degree angle. I then loaded the files in Adobe Lightroom CC 2015.10. Within LR I applied the lens profile and the exported all the files as TIFF’s. Once the files were converted to TIFF’s I loaded them in PtGui Pro and stitched them together to form a panorama. After the Panorama was made, I injected the photo with some fake metadata so it would display properly on social media sites. If you have further questions feel free to ask. I am here for YOU to learn.
This is the waterfall at Salt Point State Park, Sonoma County, California. I think it is the #1 tidal waterfall in California. I took this photo a couple of weeks ago after the rain storms that we had here in California. It was taken in Salt Point State Park, Ca. I arrived to this spot and there was a bunch of other photographers snapping photos like crazy. I scoped the scene out and found where I wanted to shoot from. It was not the best of spots but I took the ground that was available to me. As soon as the sun went down the group left. I wasn’t sure why? But, none the less I had the whole spot to myself and acquired this shot with my Sony Alpha A7S. I think the shot came out great, especially since I had the wide angle lens on it, the Sony 10-18mm lens. What do you think?
I took this photo, series of photos, on the 20th of January. I took 15 photos of Orion at 15 seconds each. I then loaded them in PhotoShop CC as layers. Aligned them and then used the lighten mode to produce this photo. What intrigued me was this small dot that was in the same spot in all the photos. What do you think it is?
I took this picture of the moon about a month ago. It was shot with my trusty Sony Alpha a6300 along with my Orion ED80T telescope. It is around 20 photos stacked and processed in Photoshop CC. How do you like it?
